Kevin and Scott launched Curbit in 2019 to democratize the convenience of the drive-thru. Our vision was simple: tech-enable inline real estate with a virtual drive-thru, where guests could order online, drive into a parking lot, and have staff magically waiting for a seamless handoff. Everyone agreed: It's really cool and useful tech.

Then the pandemic hit, and pickup and delivery demand skyrocketed. Suddenly, real-time systems that could accurately inform guests and drivers when to arrive became essential. We expected this data to be found in point-of-sale systems but were surprised to find it didn’t exist.

That’s when we seized the moment.

In late 2020, we shut down the Curbit app and went on to develop integrations with all major KDS providers to ingest real-time kitchen data. This allowed us to accurately inform guests and delivery drivers when to arrive, solving one of the industry’s biggest challenges.

Today, our team has grown to 17, focused on executing on the increasing demand, working with brands such as Cava, Smashburger, and Pei Wei and many others. Our goal is to be the fasted growing restaurant technology company ever with powering 100,000 locations by 2028.

2024

Microsoft Solution Partnership!

Curbit positions for scale by partnering with Microsoft providing critical digital infrastructure, leveraging state of the art AI and real-time capabilities to analyze speed of service, set guest expectations, communicate progress, gauge sentiment and provide robust kitchen performance analytics.
2023

Our CEO Joins!

In late 2023, Curbit named its first CEO, Fran Dougherty, who spent the previous 22 years at Microsoft where he lead the team that incubated and scaled Azure.
2022

Restaurants Optimize Capacity

Visionary brands like Zippy's, Sharky's, Big Chicken, Flanigans, Buddy's Pizza and Smashburger start to benefit from Curbit's capacity management solution. These brands start the new wave of maximizing kitchen throughput without adding stress to their staff.
2021

Integrations Abound!

In 2021 Curbit began forming strategic partnerships with key restaurant systems: Olo, Paytronix, QSR Automations, Toast, Brink, Aloha and Oracle. These integrations allowed Curbit to understand real-time speed of service for all handoff methods and demonstrate proof of concept in diverse environments from fast casual, quick service and casual dining.
2020

Curbit is Founded!

Curbit was co-founded by Scott Siegel and Kevin Pidduck, officially launching in March 2020 as a virtual drive thru. The original concept sought to solve the limited supply of traditional drive-thru's by transforming parking lots into arrival zones that triggered an in-store device of the guest location and vehicle image. Then the pandemic happened. Digital ordering skyrocketed and accurate prep times became essential ingredient.
